Another Explosion Box

I made the top of this one a little larger to make it easier to put the top on and to have more room for pictures.  I made a matching card and am glad that I did because it really looks cute.  I forgot, however, that I already made a card.  Oh well, I like the matching idea and I can always use extra birthday cards to have on hand. Haha

This box was made very quickly since I had already done one and worked the kinks out.  Because I only had one sheet of each patterned paper, I used the triangles to make it stretch.

This was a really fun project.  I will definately be making more explosion boxes.

Explosion Box

This is my first attempt at an Explosion Box album.  I'm having a hard time photographing it.  It will be a gift so I'll probably be adding more touches to personalize it.  I have to make a girl one as well.  Pictures can be put on the front and back of the pages.  I think I'll  make the top a little larger on the next one.

Lift the top off and the sides fall open, "exploding" if you will :)

I'm not sure where the little metal square came from.  It's attached with some floral wire.

MoJo Monday 174

It's Monday and I thought for sure I'd be over this cold by now.  NOT!  So I'll spend another day of lounging around and not doing much.  I thought I'd try a sketch challenge and then maybe a nap.

I used two different techniques.  I accordian folded paper on the bottom half of the card.  I used a template to cut and fold the triangles with double-sided paper.  I love the Anna Griffin paper even though my daughter will surely say that I made a Grandma card.  I love how it turned out.

Thinking of You

I recently learned that my cousin is in the hospital and is VERY sick.  I immediately thought, "I have to make her a card."  Wanting to do something with my cricut again, I chose to make the butterfly with Gypsy Wanderings and the phrase from Cindy Loo.

Clean & Simple Sketch #122

These challenges are not as easy as I thought they'd be.  Duh, that's why they're called challenges.  On another site they challenged that you make a monochromatic card so I added that stipulation as well.  I used River Rock patterned paper, cardstock and ribbon.  2 squares use one pattern and the other 2 are a 2nd pattern.  The side scallop is a 3rd pattern.  Talk about boring.  I added the twine with the ribbon.  I needed a sentiment and something to jazz it up a bit.  After adding everything, I really like the card. What do you think?  First, here's the sketch:

Cardabilities #19

I need a birthday card for my niece in February.  It's never too early to start.

My Card: (The picture doesn't show off the colors very well which are Going Grey and Certainly Celery.)

Inspirational Card Sketches #96

It's been toooooo long since I made a card.  I was busy making an 8x8 album for my parents of pictures from my daughter's October wedding.  They got this Christmas present late.  I made it pretty clean and simple.  I still have more I'd like to add to it but wanted them to have it when I visited them this past weekend.  At some point I will finish it up, take pictures of the pages to keep on file and am planning to make color copies for an album for myself.

I haven't been doing challenges for very long so I thought I better check out those I've done in the past and saw that ICS has a deadline for tonight.  I figured this would be a good one to try to complete before the fast-approaching deadline.
